The Circe Series came about after reading Circe by Madeline Miller.
After being burned by her very own father Helios, Circe was left, discarded and ignored by her relatives as the stepped over her while she lay on the floor of the great halls, scorched and blistered. Her powers were drawn from the earth itself, Pharmekia, such arts are called. Her father tried to deny her powers and banished her from his presence. She lived to prove him wrong.

The colors in this strand are magnificent and catch the light in the most magical ways. Inspired by the book cover, and to make it less….Halloween-y (not that there is ANYTHING wrong with that!) cool grey stars and round beads of hematite; for concentration and focus. Orange cat’s eye can offer protection against unforeseen danger. According to the website www.sacredsource.com.au orange color crystals have a variety of meanings, depending on the shade. For example, light orange crystals: affection, kindness, loyalty, (dealing with) alienation, and friendship. Orange: celebration, fulfillment, pleasure, and dealing with depression. Dark orange: belonging, benevolence, (dealing with) abandonment, and good reputation. We could not source a vintage scarab connector to match the way we liked, so we used a genuine topaz (strength, loyalty, beauty) scarab set with our own little hands into a setting which we also tarnished by hand.
