Lucrezia Borgia, more recently considered a pawn in her powerful family, was rumored to be a notorious arsenic poisoner (3 deaths in her wake) However when you are engaged to marry not one, but TWO Spanish princes by the time you are 13 years old for political gain, how else would you expect your teenager to act out?!
The Borgias, or The House of Borgia were the political and religious rulers of Spain in the 15th and 16th centuries. The family begat 2 Popes. Their reign was riddled with scandals that ranged from adultery to incest, bribery and murder specifically by Arsenic poisoning.
True story: We were once was adopted a black cat we named Lucretia. She ran into my arms outside of a ratty old apartment building where we once lived on Young Circle, in Hollywood. She was small, injured and we were in the middle of moving to Miami Beach. She spent the first weeks with shut in a bathroom with a drain in her neck. She was precious, we loved her so.
