The scarab has a long and rich history – it symbolizes rebirth, resurrection, transformation and life. It’s symbol is found throughout ancient Egypt and is clearly marked on nearly every sarcophagus and tomb. This particular design and pattern was directly inspired by this image of Thomas Edwin Mostyn entitled “A Viennese Memory.” While we can’t be sure the jewels dripping from the artist’s muse feature scarabs, we have decided it does!
